I left around 3ish and got caught in that awful rain storm. I didn't really mind until I got to the 76 turn off and entered a cloud. Absolutely horrendous and dangerous but made it out alive and a few new skills were gained.

Beer Breed

Funny thing about Atom from Beer breed is that we worked in the same industry but he pushed beer out of trailers and I pushed beer from a computer. Forward a few years and I met Atom through the first Beer Booter. Super cool dude, brothers, or maybe cousins from another aunt - how would that go? anyhow, Atom is top notch and puts on tons of little rides throughout San Diego and beyond. Literally kin to my heart this guy likes bikes and knows allot about them. But not only does he love bikes he rides them - Allot and that is what its all about my friends. I go almost every year.
The first year I went I wasn't cool because I was on a 66' Honda, the second time I was cool because I was on an old Triumph Cafe that I built, Third no one would talk to me because I was on a Chop that I built and then I showed up on a BMW R100 cafe that I built and every one laughed. I was very confused. From where Im from studded leather and funny hats meant you were a very ghey man, which nothing is wrong with that, its just well you know, I didn't understand and still am confused! After that I showed up on my Triumph thruxton and lots of up turned noses because it wasn't vintage, so I then skipped a few years but mostly because I offered to make Guinness an official sponsor but whats his name was to kool for skool and he pissed me off by acting as if I was bothering him. So I decided to take a few years off, but I was talked into going last year just to hang with the Spokes and had a decent - well boring time but it wasnt because of my pals, it good seeing friends and old bikes. The event is in new hands now, I know they are trying, heck they have one of the biggest events around so all I can do is wish them the best and give my full support. I personally wont ride in the packs so you wont see me on the ride, fucking accordion rides arnt for me - too many kooks, allot of Vintage Iron that people didnt build themselves and only ride when they can be seen or is it scene? Anyhow, Ill see ya on Sunday at Hoolies if your going, buy me a beer please, I will need one!

I met these guys a few years back at the firs real big Biltwell event called the Chop Meet. I was sort of camped out next to them doing half arsed security for the Biltwell gang and had a chance to talk with Andy and his crew for a bit about their killer Trumph they had parked in front of their tent. I couldn't take my eyes off of it, knowing they built much of Bills Triumph Chop he rode around at the time, I already had mucho respect to say the least. Flash forward a couple years and I made friends with Ryan at the first Biltwell Bash, I love his triumph so much, even broke in the back of his truck. Beer is being made right down the street by a home brewer named Dave, he calls his beers "Bear Brewing Co" and he is supplying 5gal of an IPA and 5gal of a stout. Food will be put on, Ryans telling me hes smokin' meat, so like usual there will be plenty of eats to go with the fine suds...

Full Suit is brewed with the changing seasons in mind. Firm toasted malt and roasted nut flavors are underpinned by a hint of vanilla that comes from aging the beer on French oak. This tasty winter warmer started life as a small batch beer brewed for the Al Johnson Uphill Downhill a telemark ski race in Crested Butte, Colorado. The Uphill Downhill celebrates the exploits of Al Johnson, letter carrier extraordinaire, who delivered mail by ski in the late 1800s. Dry hopping during fermentation creates a floral nose with a hint of pepper and spicy, subtle undertones. 2° Below provides a bright, hoppy palate and a cheery warm afterglow. 6.6% ABV. 32 IBU.

New Belgium Vrienden: Collaboration Beer: 8.5% ABV: Limited Release: 22oz and Draft
Meaning “friend,” in Flemish, this beer is a collaboration with Allagash in Colorado. Brewed with endive and hibiscus, this Belgian-inspired ale is then inoculated with lacto bacillus and brettanamyces. A ruby-hued beauty, Vreinden opens with a bouquet of hibiscus sailing a sea of pale malt toward a dry and slightly sour finish. 8.5% ABV

Here are some seasonal beers to give a go. I've had most, not all but I wasn't disappointed with any of them that I tried. Keep checking back for the next three days I'll put up a new list.

Anchor Bock: Bock: Seasonal Release: 22oz and Draft
Bock Beer is an ancient and mysterious part of the brewing tradition. Over time, the term “bock” has come to mean a beer darker and stronger than a brewery’s “regular” brew. Virtually handmade by the brewers of Anchor Steam Beer, we hope you will find Anchor Bock to be a rich and flavorful addition to our offerings.

Alaskan Smoked Porter: Porter: Limited Release: 22oz and Draft
Smoked Beer. Known as "rauchbier" in Germany, smoke-flavored beers were virtually unknown in the U.S. until Alaskan Smoked Porter was developed in 1988. The dark, robust body and pronounced smoky flavor of this limited edition beer make it an adventuresome taste experience. Alaskan Smoked Porter is produced in limited "vintages" each year and unlike most beers, may be aged in the bottle much like fine wine.

Alaskan Barley Wine Ale: Barley Wine: 10.4% ABV: Seasonal Release: 22oz and Draft
Full-bodied ale , deep mahogany in color and brewed with any array of complementing malts to achieve its high original gravity. Coronado Winter Brew: Winter Seasonal: 8% ABV: Seasonal Release: Draft
Our annual holiday beer is a sweet medium-bodied ale. Brewed with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger for the perfect seasonal taste. Celebrate the holidays with our "Seasons best winter brew." 8% ABV.

Deschutes Red Chair: Northwester Pale Ale: 6.4% ABV: Seasonal Release: 6pks
Red Chair Northwestern Pale Ale is named after the oldest operating lift at Mt. Bachelor in Central Oregon. It has a plush body with satiny caramel flavors derived from seven varieties of malt. Yet, despite it all, it remains a hop-forward ale with that distinctive citrusy punch. Just minus any mouth-puckering bitterness.

Deschutes Hop Henge: Experimental IPA: 9.0% ABV: Limited Release: Draft
Several pounds of Centennial & Cascade hops are in each barrel with a heavy dry-hop presence to top it off. A blend of crystal, pale and carastan malts creates an overall biscuity characteristic that is dense and muscular, building the alcohol base to support the monstrous hop profile.

Firestone Velvet Merlin: Oatmeal Stout: 5.5% ABV: Year Round: 6pks and Draft
Small batch oatmeal stout with cocoa, espresso and chocolate flavors. Won a Gold Medal at GABF in 2010 for barrel aged brew. Used to be called Velvet Merkin—now Merlin. Same beer, new name! More on order.

Full Sail Wreck the Halls: India Pale Ale: 6.5% ABV: Limited Release: 22oz
Wreck the Halls is a holiday brew to end all holiday brews. It is aggressive and sublime, assertive and mellow, complex and drinkable, and has a lot of hops in it. It is an American style IPA crossed with a winter style strong ale. The finest Pale malt along with Crystal and Caramel malts gives this beer a sweet malt body and red color. he famous Centennial hop is used to give this beer a pronounced fruity-citrus character. The beer is dry hopped (the process of steeping aging beer on fresh hops) for three weeks, which amplifies its aromatics and flavor.

Green Flash Grand Cru: Belgian Style Dark Ale: 9% ABV: Limited Release: 22oz
Belgian Style Dark Ale inspired by traditional Abbey Ales to deliver the richest of malt flavors but with a slightly elevated hopping and increased complexity given from two different yeast strains. This malt laden ale is designed to satiate and keep your taste buds dancing.

Triumph Simplified Wiring Diagram

On top of all my BMW builds I'm also (with the help from my wiring pal Whompy) going to start digging into my triumph in order to simplify things up a bit.
Ive never had blinkers and such, so it's time to get rid of all the handlebar controls, put a new headlight on and clean out the middle - with my new TAB tank coming I should have the bike I have always wanted...about time five years and 40k plus miles later.

This guy gave me some good info a few years back about BMW's, invited him for a Beer but we lost contact. Not only did he know a bunch about these bikes, he could rid'em. Picture perfect -perfect form.

THE GUZZI CLUBMAN CAFE RACER

As Im sitting here looking at this bike thinking those fucking Italians, they are literally famous for making the most beautiful bikes and cars on this planet and they come up with this thing - Really! Every little rockabilly / thruxton half helmet dildo is going to love the color combo but all I can say is WTF are you blind! an Italian bike trying to look like a back yard southern hot rod build...to boot, when is the last time a fuel injected bike needed pipe tape - did they map it for that, I certainly hope so....fucking lame!
I do like the lines of the VY Guzzi and I have always been a fan of Moto Guzzi in general. I can admit that Ive never met one or an owner of one that I didn't like - but until these assholes from Moto Guzzi much like their American brethren Harley Davidson start to get a clue I wouldn't ride this monstrosity if it were given to me - well maybe, let me take that back; that is if everyone could wait til I touched it up with some flat black paint and loaded up with a bunch of stupid bolt on "cafe racer" parts, ordered my ton up tee, wore my red handkerchief sticking out of my back pocket, rolled up my jeans and joined the Brit Iron Rebels then it may be worth it.
Anyhow, I haven't seen one yet, so I'm sure they thought this thing through or maybe someone punched the designer in the face; either or I'm sure some 30ish nerd dude is sitting on his computer right now imagining himself with full retro gear sitting on this thing thinking how bad ass he will look taking his M1 license test on this.
To close, to the 30ish wannabe IT dude, no worries, if they dont end up bringing this to the states, you still are ok, buy yourself some vans, designer jeans and flannel, get yourself a shiny new sportster and fill it up with every cool "in the now" bolt on you can imagine, then cut the fenders so you can call it a custom and become a member over at chop cult - lol

"Lucky Tim" via Beer Booter fame...

A fellow "Beer Booter" Tim here has got a nice bike for American girlie scrap Iron. I got to say its one of my favorite stocker framed sporties. With the help from our pal Whompy (JP Rider designs) Tim and Whompy have created a monster.
